priti kothari arrest

Below is one of the many types of readings Strategies that can help students with learning disabilities chunk down material and cope with academics

Reading strategies K-W-L

  • K = what you already know about a topic
  • W = background knowingly -> find answers
  • L = What learned in reading

Some variations are what do I know and what do I want to know

Another variation; what did I learn or what new questions do I have?

Skimming and Scanning -> another way to recap and build content learning

This is helpful as a tool for college level preparation. A reader looks quickly and finds the most important features and information in a text

Ways to work: -> give students a reading assignment that is expository.

Look at titles, headings and sub-headings, visuals bold adverb. First and last paragraph.

Finally remembered chunk down that material and use visual aids
